Society Kolkata Centre(erstwhile Regional Computer
Centre, Calcutta) was founded in 1976 primarily to
encourage, promote and disseminate knowledge on all aspects
of IT, design & improve standards and to provide consultancy
support in software, hardware and communication technologies.
In December 2002, the Centre has been merged with DOEACC
Society, a leading institute dedicated in generating quality
manpower in the field of Information, Electronics and Communication
Technologies (IECT) for non-formal sector. DOEACC
Society, having its office in New Delhi, is an autonomous
body under Department of Information Technology, Ministry
of Communications & Information Technology (MCIT), Govt.
of India and now DOEACC Society Kolkata Centre, is a unit
of DOEACC Society along with 9 other such units across
the country, at Aizawl, Aurangabad, Calicut, Chandigarh, Gorakhpur,
Imphal, Kohima, Srinagar/Jammu, and Tezpur/ Guwahati.
The
DOEACC Society Kolkata Centre, has played a pioneering role
in spreading computer literacy and IT culture by virtue of
its being in the IT field for three decades. With the fast
changing scenario, the Centre has adapted to the latest technologies
and skills to retain its position among the top IT training
and solution providers in the region. The Centre offers excellent
professional environment. The Center's alumni are placed all
over the world, may be holding important positions in blue
chip companies as well as Government bodies. Our vision is
to make the Centre globally visible Centre for IT excellence.
